August 20, 201411 yr I've searched the forums trying to find if FEX is compatible with P3d but can't find anything. In the add-on list for P3d this software isn't mentioned. I want to use Opus FSX for my weather and Rex Direct 4 for my textures. I want FEX for my clouds based upon what I am reading it appears FEXs clouds are more realistic than REXs. Anyone get flight environment to work in p3d?
August 20, 201411 yr tkellogg have you tried the HDE V2 freeware FSX cloud textures available on AVSIM? They're the most realistic I've found and available in different file sizes. I also have FEX but haven't (yet) tried to install it in P3D. Maybe once I've worked out how to use the Russian migration tool I'll have a go. August 20, 201411 yr Hi I have FEX! To get it work I did the following, copy t,he FSX .exe to P3D then re name it to say FSX1.exe. The reason for this is if you look at FEX if it is installed your install will point to FSX.exe so you must differentiate. Go to you new FSX1.exe in P3d look at the properties by right mouse click and copy the install details e.g C/D/E/P3D/FSX1.exe or what ever it says there and place it in the FEX as the install path. Then select your clouds water etc and press install, I cannot guarantee anything but it worked for me , and as I can see in the main texture folder I can see the new cloud files. Give it a try. All the best
