August 21, 201411 yr Hi; I posted earlier as to why I got a aircraft initalization error message, which made sense now I am trying to find these files on my Windows 7 O/S. Cause if I cant delete them I cant get Fs9 to load. Any help much appreciated. Thanks Robin
August 21, 201411 yr C:\Users\Your name\Documents\Flight Simulator Files is where saved flights are stored. Deleting your default flight file from there is not going to fix the "aircraft init... failure" problem, it will create a new "Cannot find file..." problem. Start by going into the Control Panel. Make sure in the upper right corner you have View by: either small or large icons. Click on Folder options. On the View tab click on "Show hidden files, folders and drives". Also remove the check from "Hide extensions for known file types". Now go to C:\Users\your name\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FS9 . If you have an FS9.cfg.txt delete it, you may not have one. Now open the FS9.cfg with Notepad. Search for Situation= and delete everything on that line after the "=" sign. Save changes and close the FS9.cfg. Now try to start the sim. regards, Joe The best gift you can give your children is your time.
