Looking for a new video card! Need Ideas!

Featured Replies

I am currently running a Radeon Gigabyte 6950 1GB GPU with an Intel i7 2600K CPU and a TX 850 PSU. I am looking to upgrade to an nVidia card within a $250 CAD budget.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

You are probably going to be looking at a GTX 660 or similar, I had one of these and it performed fairly well but I did see it struggle once I pushed my CPU to 4.7 as it really couldn't keep up with what the processor was feeding it. I sold it on Kijiji and brought a GTX 780. It was a fair chunk of change but I have never looked back. It is the perfect card for my system, FSX with DX10 has never looked or performed so smoothly. I was going to add a further two 27" monitors to my existing monitor but I recently acquired an LG 42 LED and have to say the immersion is awesome

Hope you find what you are looking for

Maybe look at the GTX 660Ti with 2GB RAM.  I have one but now use the 770 GTX ACX.

Depends on your settings, of course, but the 660 can work if you are not pushing the sliders to the max
