FSX, ATC, Heterodyne Squeek, and CoPilot

Featured Replies

Sometimes the FO goes to acknowledge something, or request something, and FSX is talking to another AI on the same freq.  The communication fails.  I have a request for an update in which he recognize that his communication didn't go through and then tries again unitl he is the only one talking on the radio.

I am not sure I understand what you mean.

Are you using RC4?

Are you using a RC4 MCE FO voice pack and using the RC4 on screen menu to request something?

If the above two conditions are true, when your MCE RC4 First Officer transmits, the ATC will always hear him. If there are other ATC messages mid transmission, your  first officer will take precedence.  At least that's my experience.

Speaking personally, I have never had any instances of my FO ATC Tx failing to be transmitted and received.

There is the latest version of MCE which has upgraded symbiosis with RC4.  I would advise that you download the latest MCE and have another go.

Best Regards

David.

I assume it's with Native FSX, P3D, or FS9 ATC.

It's already implemented that way, albeit with a limited number of attempts.

FO is definitely able to read the ATC menu, and can find out if his transmission went through. If it didn't, he will keep trying 3 (or 4, can't remember) more times at (20-30 seconds intervals) at which point he gives up. Otherwise people may get the wrong impression he's stuck on that.

If the last attempt failed, you can always prompt him to have another go with 3 more attempts...

To get him to acknowledge something, say "reply to ATC"

If you want him to establish contact with next controller, tell him "Contact ATC".

Oh, ok, I didn't know that this was already implemented, but that the interval was as much as 20 or 30 seconds, so I probably didn't give him enough time to make additional attempts.  Next time, I'll either be more patient or just use the "Reply to ATC" command that you suggest.
