September 15, 201411 yr Hello I've read some older reviews on the aerosoft airbus x and some have said that there are a few problems with system logic and accuracy, but the reviews were old and I am wondering if aerosoft has fixed some of these problems. How does the current airbus compare to the pmdg ngx in terms of handling and systems accuracy? September 15, 201411 yr A good review of the differences can be found here: http://www.simmernews.com/2013/02/review-airbus-x-extended-by-aerosoft/ Basically added better flight management (SIDS/STARS), but did not add failures or non-key emergency systems. A joy to fly and very immersive....as immersive IMHO as the NGX, but then again, I'm not looking for FAA approved system simulation accuracy.... Here is what is not included straight from Aerosoft's Mathijs (the dev) http://forum.aerosoft.com/index.php?/topic/56475-what-is-not-included-simulated/ Cheers, Jonathan
"Airbus X" was a 2010 product by Aerosoft that offered an A320 with some custom systems but using for example, the default FSX autopilot, and other shortcuts. The product was discontinued in early 2012 and replaced with "Airbus X Extended" which is an entirely different proposition. Lot's of custom features, fully functional custom autopilot etc. In terms of overall immersion, most people would consider it on a par with a PMDG product; but what it does not have that PMDG products have, is failure modelling and systems modelling outside the normal scheme of operation. If you fly a normal line flight in it, it is very realistic and enjoyable. If you want to go the Nth degree of hydraulic systems or simulate advanced failures, it cannot do what PMDG products do. I personally rate the Airbus X Extended and the PMDG NGX on par. So....... make sure you're reading reviews on the right product - a review of the original "Airbus X " is absolutely irrelevent concerning the current product; the 'Extended'.
