  1. Great shots! What cockpit textures are those?
  2. I have not noticed msfs simulating this correctly. Irl as soon as you climb above those low level cumulus the thermals smooth right out. Same thing happens when you cross the coastline, over the water it smooths right out irl.
  3. Not impressed, doesnt look any better than default. Those "thunderstorms" are still way too short in height. Thunderstorms dont top out at 10000ft in real life.
  4. Looks interesting, but one thing I dont get is this broken and overcast turbulence simulation? An overcast layer is typically stratiform and smooth. Turbulence in the real world is based on cloud type, not sky coverage. Turbulence in clouds needs to be related to thermals and wind changes within the cloud itself. Cumulus clouds are always turbulent in real life, with intensity increasing with the size and height of the cloud. Stratus clouds are smooth, and cirrus can be choppy in an area of jet stream shear, or they can be smooth. None of this has anything to do with whether the clouds form a broken or overcast layer.
  5. Something about the cockpit texturing doesnt look quite right, the texturing looks very high resolution so its not that. It just the coloring and texturing that looks a bit off to me, almost a bit cartoonish, like something is missing. The rest looks pretty good based on what I can see from that very short video.
  6. Its worth every penny and more! Imo it is the single best airliner addon ever released for a desktop sim all things considered now that their custom engine model has been developed and implemented. The fslabs was great too, but visually I always felt their texturing was sub par even back in the day. The fenix just has everything now.
  7. Brown eyes here, I found the old fenix displays far too bright in all phases, now they are just right. I really hope they dont change them again. The real a320 has somewhat dim displays too compared to other aircraft. Both a330 driver and v1simulations have said they look more realistic now.
  8. My guess is probably a random failure or bug also. -1 degree fuel temp is no problem. Was that your actual fuel temp as indicated on the fuel page?
  9. That's a reasonable response, he should have just said that last week instead.
  10. LOL, I could see the point with the last post about RSR's rude interactions with some very long time forum members, but this time its just ridiculous. For heavens sake why cant people just be happy they are providing these progress updates every weekend, its better than radio silence for months.
  11. I acknowledge the fact that there are a few others, that's why I used the word hardly. When fenix releases their external engine model I believe they will easily surpass PMDG in overall simulation fidelity. Never flown the Hjet so I cannot comment on that one. I could write an essay on the tiny little details that PMDG and Fenix simulate that put their airplanes a notch above everything else out there though as an overall package. Many things would not be noticed unless one has really studied those airplanes and jet airliners in general.
  12. Youve got to give one thing to pmdg though, at least with their 737 series: it may be a lot of recycled code from fsx with new features added, but so far in the airliner space for msfs there is hardly anyone who has been able to touch their level of systems and flight model fidelity. It just goes to show how strong their product base code was back in 2013, it has held up so well over the years. I dont like rsr's attitude but I do get a lot of enjoyment out of their products.
  13. Same here, I mean honestly what on earth was he thinking writing that? Does he not already know he is viewed in such a poor light by so much of the community?
  14. I love pmdg products and have more time in pmdg addons than anything else, but I cant stand this guys attitude. You can tell over the past few years he has tried to tone it down as he is getting flak for it now that the community has grown, but every now and then his true self shines through.
  15. Me too, I think the direction they have decided to take it is definitely the right one. Regarding the exterior, the nose looked a bit flat and blunt rather than elongated, and the cabin windows look a bit off to me.
  16. Definitely hifi, maybe they could explain to them how weather works. Then a2a, so they could explain to them how aerodynamics and piston engines work. Then fenix, to teach them that airliners dont behave like cessna 172's, and teach them how turbine engines work.
  17. Ive been flying in southwest canada lately with a few different airplanes and found them icing up on the wings and windscreen.
  18. I also want to say, you definitely CAN get by with less, it just means you will have to compromise a bit on visuals. I spend a lot of time in MSFS VR so I went all out because I am very picky about my experience. I fly GA and airliners and want things to look as close to a monitor as possible. It is definitely worth trying with a 16GB or even 12GB gpu. You will have to run less resolution, LOD at 100 instead of 200+, and some settings on medium instead of high or ultra. Its is worth trying VR, the experience is incredible. Sorry if my first post was a bit misleading, its just that If the 4090 was a 36GB gpu instead of 24GB it would be just perfect for VR.
  19. No, in my opinion even 24GB is insufficient for VR in MSFS. My GPU can handle more resolution but I back down the AA and resolution because it will max out my 24GB of vram if I set the resolution to what the GPU can handle.
  20. Wow, that's really impressive considering he has managed a level of detail in many different facets of the aircraft that many much larger development teams don't come anywhere near. Can't wait to try out the dukes!
  21. Looks amazing! Loving the new tablet with the detailed systems schematics. Is this just one main developer working on this? If so how on earth does he manage to put out such detailed stuff in such a short amount of time?
  22. I share your sentiments. Oled 5k+ displays, 48gb vram gpus, and small comfortable hmds would be pretty much perfect.
  23. Very sloppy programming in the app, its easy to break your sim and get ctds if something goes wrong. For example if you leave your sim running overnight the program will update the season files with the sim running, which will cause ctd's. You would think they would have put a line of code in to stop the update if the sim is running. Like another user said, sometimes there are issue with the downloaded files. Im still seeing green trees in places where the trees should be bare at this time of the year, the ground color feature works in some places and not in others. Just feels a bit unfinished in its current state. That being said I still like it better than default with no seasons at all.
