Graphics error

Featured Replies

I like your fixer. I seem to have an issue, when I am flying around 5,000ft and above, I seem to have artifacts and other graphical issues (like textures in midair, shooting upwards) and other stuff since I used the installer (in DX10 mode). Can you help me out?

Sorry - is this since 2.4? Do you have an AMD card?

I brought it 5 hours ago so yes, it is the 2.4 version. I do indeed have an AMD GPU (currently an AMD Radeon HD 7850 Sapphire OC Edition).

If you can downgrade the drivers to 12.4 then it fixes the problem. Its an issue with the later AMD drivers and the FSX DX10 engine.

Otherwise you need to set AA to no more than 4x and set the water shader to no more than 2x low.

There is a pinned thread above on AMD AA.

Sorry we live in hope that they will fix it.

You mean to say I need to downgrade from 14.9 to 12.4. Anyway, is AMD aware of the issue?

yes, or alternatively just set AA to 4x and the water shader to no more than 2x low - you can set supersampling as well.

I download all their betas and report it but I don't think fsx carries much weight.

I decided to rather reduce the water settings.

Graphical corruptions are gone for now. In case your interested, I might consider getting an Nvidia GTX 980 as the next graphics card I will be using (I am planning to get it at Christmas).
