October 5, 201411 yr Hi guys All my Linda settings have disappeared. I now only have blank screens where the controller settings were. It also no longer recognizes my joystick/throttles There was an error message , something like "controller pointer not recognized"?? The only thing I did was install a touch screen. Linda loads normally though and I get the ready captain message Any ideas? ZORAN
October 5, 201411 yr Switch off the touch screen, then load Linda first, then turn on the touch screen and you should be ok. I have to do this every FS session as my second screen is a touch screen too. Cheers, Andy.
October 5, 201411 yr Author NO NO No not another thingy I have to do before launching FSX What a strange conflict though. must say I love the touch screen, should have got it years ago :-) ZORAN
October 5, 201411 yr They did try to fix it too, it's something I brought up during testing of Linda and they just couldn't figure it out. I nearly never use the touch screen to be honest, it's too uncomfortable to lift you arm up and touch stuff and you get fingerprints all over the screen too, I use a mouse 99% of the time. It's good for FMC'S but I already own a CDU2 which is far faster for data entry as you have the tactile feedback, fortunately my Dell 22" touch screen has awesome picture quality so it's still gets plenty of use as a secondary screen. Cheers, Andy.
October 5, 201411 yr Author oh well... Thanks for sorting the problem, I guess I could plug it into a powered USB and have it sitting next to me Have you tried simtouch? http://www.simtouch.eu/ It may change the way think about touch screens. It brilliant and has a free 7 day demo. A lot of the tabs work with payware aircraft and they are going to release a FSUIPC compatible version I get what you mean about sore arms but sim touch has nice sizes tabs to jab away at ZORAN
October 5, 201411 yr Author unplugging the touch screen (infra red usb overlay)doesn't bring Linda back. Not sure where to go from here ZORAN
October 5, 201411 yr I don't know what monitor you have, but I turn the power off with the power button on my monitor and that makes Windows make that ding dong noise it makes when a device is unplugged, I then make sure Linda is closed properly and then reopen it, then I turn the monitor back on an carry on a normal and Linda works fine. Cheers, Andy.
October 5, 201411 yr Author Its actually a glass panel that attaches to any monitor and works via a USB cable. Its unplugged I will try to reinstall linda and see what happens . ZORAN
October 5, 201411 yr I found another cause of this error is if you have 2 mouse devices plugged in at the same time, it doesn't always cause a problem with every manufacturers mice, but the two I tried did cause problems, I had a Kingston track wheel mouse and a Logitech mouse and Linda gave the same error. If I removed either mouse it would then work fine. Cheers, Andy.
October 5, 201411 yr Author Only one mouse here. It was 100% the touch screen overlay because they happened at the same time, only problem is Linda wont come back . What folder contains all my linda settings do you know? ZORAN
October 5, 201411 yr The one called LindaCFG I think, I'm not near my FS PC so can't confirm the name. Cheers, Andy.
