October 12, 201411 yr I am aware that there was some discussion earlier in the year regarding problems when using Aerosoft Dublin with the Horizon VFR GenX Ireland East photographic scenery. At the time I was using the airport with FTX Republic of Ireland. However, I have since purchased and installed the Horizon photoscenery (because FTX Republic of Ireland is heavy on framerates and VAS, and also because those low resolution, unrealistic coastlines were annoying me). Unfortunately, I experienced the "default scenery bleed through" problem in the bay, and I have also noticed that the custom ground lighting (runway and taxiway) is not being displayed. Instead, I have default lighting. I have tried moving Aerosoft Dublin below Horizon VFR GenX Ireland East in the Scenery menu, but that results in the Aerosoft Dublin custom ground image not being displayed. Are there solutions to both of these problems? October 17, 201411 yr Author I am not sure what I need to do to get any kind of response regarding these issues. I posted the same message on the Aerosoft Support forum five days ago, but so far I have received three responses (all of them from myself), and nothing from anyone at Aerosoft <_< Can anyone help me resolve these problems? October 17, 201411 yr Rather than moving the whole of the Aerosft scenery, you need to investigate each of the individual files.
October 17, 201411 yr Author I will do that, but I was hoping that someone else would have already isolated the files that need to be moved/deleted. This issue was being discussed months ago. October 18, 201411 yr Author The cvxDUBLIN_GROUND.bgl file appears to be the source of the problem. Does anyone know how to fix this? In fact, does anyone know of a way to wake up Aerosoft Support so that I can get a response? <_< Christopher Low AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D CPU / 64GB DDR5-6000 RAM / 12GB Nvidia RTX 4070 Super GPU / Gigabyte X870E Aorus Elite Wifi 7 / 1+2TB Samsung Evo Plus M2 Nvme UK2000 Beta Tester
October 18, 201411 yr Author Well, after some investigation I get the impression that the Aerosoft Dublin custom taxiway and runway lighting does not work in P3D. I noticed that the BGL files for these are switched off, and that the P3D AFD file has had the standard runway and taxiway lighting activated. I am aware that other developers have had problems with lighting in P3D, so I guess that this must be a temporary solution? There must be other AVSIM members that use the Aerosoft Dublin package with P3D, so can anyone else confirm this? The custom taxiway, runway and approach lighting at the airport worked just fine in FSX. October 18, 201411 yr Author I seem to have found a solution to this problem. If I remove the cvxDUBLIN_GROUND.bgl file, and replace it with the EIDW_ADEX_DublinInt_CVX.bgl file from the PlaySims/VFRGenX/Volume9/Airports/Scenery folder, the default scenery in the bay vanishes without affecting the terrain elevation of the airport with respect to the photographic scenery. You just have to make sure that the AIRPORTS entry for VFRGenX 9 in the Scenery Menu is disabled. Can someone please test and confirm this? October 19, 201411 yr Author It seems that you don't even need to move the EIDW_ADEX_DublinInt_CVX.bgl file from the PlaySims/VFRGenX/Volume9/Airports/Scenery folder, so long as you have the VFR9 Ireland East airports active in the Scenery Menu. I guess I took the scenic route to this conclusion because I thought that I would need to disable these airports to avoid conflicts with Aerosoft Dublin!
