October 14, 201411 yr Hi Guys, What is the correct syntax to engage the mechanic ?. I cant seem to get him to respond. Also, I fly on VATSIM with vPilot, I use a PTT button on the joystick, but I find my FO, responding to my conversation with ATC on VATSIM. Is there anyway to make the FO ignore if the PTT button is pushed/held down ?. October 14, 201411 yr Commercial Member Is there anyway to make the FO ignore if the PTT button is pushed/held down ?. Indeed. Assign the same PTT you're using with Vatsim under MCE as if intending to use it for Native ATC. Go to C:\Users\your_user_name\AppData\Roaming\Multi Crew Experience\ folder Open "mce.ini" and look at [GAMEPAD] section. Change "UseWithVoxATC=0" to "UseWithVoxATC=1" and save the file. Disable "Talk to ATC feature" in MCE user interface. From then on, when you hold PTT down with intention to talk to Vtsim, all MCE speech reco will be suspended. Many ways to engage the Mechanic. See manual Cockpit to ground Ground from flight deck. If you have your own verbiage you'd like to use, rather than memorising existing sentences, go to Voxscript interface, and create whatever voice command (commands you tried without success), then as part of the script, add one of the existing commands above, and you should be able to interact with the Mechanic your way. Gerald, thanks mate, it worked ... I am beginning to realise MCE is versatile :-) Jeganathan Harishanker (YSSY) i7-7700k @4.9GHz, ASUS Maximus IX Hero, 32 GB RAM @3200MHz, GA GTX 1080 G1, 2 x M.2 NVME Samsung EVO 256 GB, Kraken X61, 55" 4K TV @30Hz, P3D v4.3, MCE, GSX, ASP4, FSUIPC, PMDG 747 v3 & 737 NGX, QW 787
October 15, 201411 yr Author Gerald, Sorry, one more Q. Should I call mechanic before or after speaking to ramp controller "jane" ?. Under aa particular order, ground/mechanic never responds... so wondering if there is a proper sequence... Thanks again Hari Jeganathan Harishanker (YSSY) i7-7700k @4.9GHz, ASUS Maximus IX Hero, 32 GB RAM @3200MHz, GA GTX 1080 G1, 2 x M.2 NVME Samsung EVO 256 GB, Kraken X61, 55" 4K TV @30Hz, P3D v4.3, MCE, GSX, ASP4, FSUIPC, PMDG 747 v3 & 737 NGX, QW 787

You talk to each as you see fit. Just one consideration. Mechanic won't reply when ALL engines are running. This is to prevent him popping up on takeoff after accidental speech reco. You must shut at least one engine down. And you have to establlish contact with him before asking for cargo doors to be closed or initiating pushback. Gerald R https://www.multicrewxp.com
October 15, 201411 yr Author Gerald, I have noticed with MCE and GSX on pmdg 777-300 ER. The cargo doors open automatically, when the baggage arrive, but do not close automatically when boarding and baggage loading is completed, neither does the mechanic, it has to be closed manually via DMC , doors option. Is that normal or a settings/config issue ? Right now, you can either tell mechanic Ground, close cargo doors Mechanic, close cargo doors. Or, say... "Ground are you ready for pushback?" "ground are you ready for startup?" ... and he will then check everything is OK before pushing (or startup), including removing ground power, closing cargo doors, and even reminding you if you left one of the PAX doors open.
