B55 Instrument panel lights

Featured Replies

Hi-

Just bought the B55 for P3D and really like it.

Is there a way to bring up the lighting in the cockpit?

SHIFT + L brings up the bezel around the GTN 750 but everything else is quite dark. This is pronounced when HDR is on.

Thanks!

Mark

Hello Mark,

There are 3 rheostats, on the control console; just to the right of the elevator trim and above a the cowl flaps.

One is for the instrument flood lights, one for the instrument lighting and the other regulates the lighting for the electrical panel, avionics panel and trim tab indicators.

HINT: Use the "A" key to cycle to the third virtual cockpit camera, which is a close up of that area and makes it possible to actually reach those three knobs.

If you have TrackIR of course the extra camera views probably won't be necessary.

Oh, and keep your fingers off the bloody "L" key and combinations, else you'll confuse the lighting system!

Sounds like a programmer speaking here

I found the A cycle key already so I'm cool there. Now, if I could figure out how to remove the s-t-r-e-t-c-h from the GTN 750 I've installed when I hit SHIFT + 3, I'll be good to go.

Yes, I'm using nVidia surround.

Thanks,

Mark

In the [Window02] entry of the panel.cfg file, these are the parameters to specify the screen size of the sub-window:

window_size= 0.340, 0.580

The parameter in red above is the "width" of the sub-window, so make it a bit smaller and test after each edit until you have the correct perspective you want. I suggest -0.010 as a starting point (so 0.570, 0.560, etc.). When close, try +/- 0.005 to narrow it down closer to ideal.
