April 21, 200521 yr G'dayBeing a lover of the special schemem aircraft found in Japan i spend a lot of time flying there in FS9.I have managed to find some good sceneries for some of the major airports as freeware but most have FPS issues even on my system with the AI traffic turned up to 100%.I have been pretty stunned then to find the payware scenery by Overland from Japan being probably the most detailed airports i have seen level with Flytampa. To top it off my FPS have lept back up to better than the default Narita scenery and way above the freeware addon i was using for Haneda.Anyway for other lovers of flying 74's on domestic sectors and people who enjoy great Ai found in Japan these sceneries are a discovery.Given i had never really heard of them before they are now getting a hammering every chance i can get in FS9.ANyway if FPS is an issue for you and you fly around the land of the rising sun i can heartily recommend these airports to you for both detail and ease on your PC.Great to see payware developers who actually take time to optimize their releases as nothing is worse than parting with hard earned cash on FPS hogging scenery. They have joined Flytampa on my top notch level of payware designers and i will certainly grab there new Kansai when it is released. Now back to flying.PS The controllers in Japan on Vatsim are excellent having been flying around there quite a bit recently.SeeyaDarren
April 21, 200521 yr I concur Darren, the Overland series are extremely good, not only do you get 4 high quality airports in 1 pack, but you also get some real nice photo scenery around each of them, some of the smaller island airports with there photo scenery are amazing. As for the FPS hit, these guys are true geniuses, just take a look at Haneda, which is worth the pack price in itself, is exquisitly detailed, but I get NO hit at all, even when pack to the gills with AI traffic. So for 19 Euros you get 4 very highly detailed, and very, very well optimised airports, and photo ground scenery, sounds like a bargain to me.I would highly recommend them, I have all 4 packs, and can't wait for Kansai too, I also hope that they do Chubu Int too.Dan.
April 21, 200521 yr Overland also make great aircraft :) Quote from MS Flight Team Lead: "We’ve made some guesses"
