April 26, 200521 yr I have FS2004 with the 9.1 patch. Installed FS global 2005, Ultimate Traffic and USA roads without problems. Then I installed A340 professional and I didn't know it would install an older FSUIPC.dll version (I didn't back up the original FSUIPC version, live and learn). So now FS2004 won't start at all. So I uninstalled A340, dragged the FSUIPC.dll file out of the module folder and after seting up the cfg file I can fly FS2004 just fine without the FSUIPC.dll file. How is that possible? What does the FSUIPC file do? Microsoft says if I want to have the original FSUIPC file back I have to uninstall and reinstall FS2004. Can I do that without uninstall and intall the add-ons? I didn't know installing the A340 professional from phoenix-simulation could get me this easily in trouble.
April 26, 200521 yr Since FSUIPC doesn't come with FS2004 I have no idea what Microsoft is talking about. It's an add-on feature and you can always download the latest version (3.48) here: http://www.schiratti.com/dowson.html . Install that version and everything should be OK again. Whenever a package installs an older file (it happens all the time) just delete the FSUIPC files from the modules folder, copy the newest FSUIPC.dll file back into the modules folder, and restart FS2004.Doug Intel 10700K @ 5.1Ghz, Asus Hero Maximus motherboard, Noctua NH-U12A cooler, Corsair Vengeance Pro 32GB 3200 MHz RAM, RTX 2060 Super GPU, Cooler Master HAF 932 Tower, Thermaltake 1000W Toughpower PSU, Windows 10 Professional 64-Bit, 100TB of disk storage. April 26, 200521 yr Author I have enough disk space where I can extract each version as it comes out (of FSUIPC from the indicated link) to its own folder. I then just right-click on the FSUIPC.dll file and drag it into the modules folder acknowledging that I want a copy, not move, and overwrite is OK.This system allows me to go back if there is a problem. There should have been no need to uninstall the A340 to update FSUIPC nor uninstall and reinstall FS2004. Very bad advice from your MS professional! With the FS9.1 patch version 3.45 or later is required. From the link above you can get to a forum where you can compare notes and get details on releases and fixes. It is not normally necessary that you have to delete FSUIPC.ini and let it rebuild but very occasionally it is required. I keep a safe copy in a folder under modules as well as a renamed FSUIPC.dll in there of the one that I am replacing - one version back.It is important to read the release notes distributed with it to see if you need to perform any additional actions. It takes longer to read this note than do a couple of protective procedures.
