May 4, 200521 yr broke my left hand, fell on it. typing with one hand now, thinking if i could do some flying with my only right hand... hm hm...
May 4, 200521 yr Won't work fella. The right hand will be used for holding the beer.Unless of course you're not allowed beer, coz that's how you fell and broke your left hand???Tough one for Word Not Allowed!Tim
May 4, 200521 yr well, one of my jobs is playing with kids, working with them. there were many today and i fell from the air-castle, from around 2.5m height and broke a bone in my hand.here:http://www.handerkrankungen.de/Kahnbein/http://orthopedics.about.com/cs/otherfract.../a/scaphoid.htm
May 4, 200521 yr You have a dangerous job but someone's got to do it :-)Flying with one hand should be OK especially if you got rudder pedals. -
May 4, 200521 yr Word Not Allowed,And some say flying is dangerous! ;-)Couldn't you attach a stick to your cast? That way you could use your bad hand to try to hit vital keys like F1, F6 and F7 on the keyboard while using your good hand doing the flying? Just a desperate thought. Would've been better if you broke your ankle eh?Best Regards, Mats JohanssonPMDG Flight Test Dept | Asus Z270-A | Intel i5-7600K @ 4.8 GHz OC/H2O | nVidia Geforce GTX 1070 8GB OC/O2|
May 4, 200521 yr hahahaha mats, well, my 4 fingers are free, but i can't type with thowe, though hitting keys is possible :)ouch, no, not ankle. not being able to walk would be worse than this...

May 5, 200521 yr >broke my left hand, fell on it. typing with one hand now,>thinking if i could do some flying with my only right hand...>hm hm...Hmmmm, welcome to the club; 'cept mine was the right mitt. Doc just took the cast off a week or so ago. Biggest probbie is that the cast sets yer hand in a "handshake" alignment and it's real hard to get yer hand to lie flat so's ya kin type. I'm now getting my wrist back in shape; still have fatigue when I use it for an extensive time. Since I'm righthanded this really put a crimp in my activities for a few weeks. :D
May 5, 200521 yr 6 weeks time of keeping this crap on... at least got some painkillers, couldn't sleep the night.i hope that this doesn't leave me handicapped afterwards...
May 5, 200521 yr Simple solution for the "Beer Hand". Buy yourself a plastic crash helmet and strap it on. There's a holder on the top of it with room for any sized can, with a large plastic straw through to the mouth. My niece bought me one for my birthday. Works a treat with flight sim.Just dont look straight down on your keyboard!Happy flying.,Dan
May 6, 200521 yr Well Word Not Allowed, bummer about your hand. I have no advice to give for that, and only hope it doesn't happen to me. Maybe have someone else do the finger tapping on FS? It could be a little learning experience for kids. That said, be prepared to fly a little less accurately! Good luck with your hand!
