November 27, 201411 yr Hi Tony, did a quick video EGNY. A bit rambling. Also went over to Hull. Hull is looking very good. No video editing so it seems a bit dark. Also AI playing fun and games at landing and I didn't have time to go around. Put me right off my stroke. It's pretty hard find amongst the fields but that would probavbly be true in real life. main thing is I had fun. It's quite long so i implor you to fast forward to stave off boredom! http://1drv.ms/1vUkz2W cheers Peter Peter Allen Chillblast custom built: Intel Core i7-7700K 4.5Ghz, Nvidia GTX1080Ti, Corsair Hydro H100i v2, Asus Maximus Hero IX Z270, 32Gb DDR4 3000Mhz (4 X 8Gb), 250Gb Samsung 960 Evo SSD PCie, 2 x 1Tb Crucial SSD, 1 x 4Tb, Corsair 850W PSU. November 27, 201411 yr Author Moderator Thanks very much Peter, just downloading now, much appreciated. It shows how the airfield I did blends into the photoscenery (and I'm glad you couldn't find it easily ) EGNY is indeed quite difficult to find, it also has an awkward traffic pattern, as you are not allowed to fly over the farm and villages nearby. I'm going to release a new version soon where I've added runway grind marks and dirt onto the runway so it's easier to see, and I've also added one of the manor houses on the approach which you're not allowed to fly over. I was told that it's easy to find if you look for the bend in the river hull, as it points right at the runway. My other airfield XPOK - Pocklington is pretty easy to find as the old runways really standout against the countryside and hills. It looks like Flight1 have used the same source as Bing for this area, in other words Getmapping, but they've smoothed it out. In Google's newer imagery, the season changes half way through and there is a big colour discolouration, so will be picking this up for sure. At EGNY, I've tried to make the grass textures of the runway match the real field.
November 27, 201411 yr It's very good - airfields are always harder to spot in real life I find - XP does a better job of blending than FSX or P3D I think - happy to do some more videos of the Sheffield area and Pocklington which I have also downloaded today but will need to do tomorrow. I really do enjoy this VFR sofware - as you could see from the photos the coast is amazing and there is watermask. The mesh is also very detailed as can be seen in the Snowdonia shots. I think you will really enjoy it. There is the occasional hiccup (e.g. water up the side of a cliff), but they are very few and far between. So enjoy and thanks once again for all the enjoyment you add to our hobby. Really is appreciated. November 28, 201411 yr Tony, Short video of Pocklington here. What a great little airport you have produced. Fits really well into the VFR scenery. Great W2XP scenery as well. Really shows what can happen with the right OSM although I suspect there is more than just OSM at work in the surroundings. I hope you enjoy. Think I will put it in the videos section as well - see what people think. http://1drv.ms/1uRznc6 cheers Peter Peter Allen Chillblast custom built: Intel Core i7-7700K 4.5Ghz, Nvidia GTX1080Ti, Corsair Hydro H100i v2, Asus Maximus Hero IX Z270, 32Gb DDR4 3000Mhz (4 X 8Gb), 250Gb Samsung 960 Evo SSD PCie, 2 x 1Tb Crucial SSD, 1 x 4Tb, Corsair 850W PSU. November 28, 201411 yr Author Moderator Thanks Peter, I'm glad you like XPOK. The OSM is quite good around, especially if you head East towards the coast over the hills. You're also getting good performance. Yep, I did add a few extras around the area ;-), e.g. The industrial buildings, care home, and some of the farms
