TEXTURE_BANDWIDTH_MULT=0

Featured Replies

What is this? I found it in FS9.CFG and when I changed it from 400 to 0 I get much better Frame rates and I didn't see any change.... :-)TEXTURE_BANDWIDTH_MULT=0Erik

You are certainly adverturous in editing an entry that you don't know anything about! (:I can't explain the purpose of the line but many set it to higher values due to such glitches as slow painting of side views and/or airport rotating beacons appearing as a black wedge.I'm surprised you found it set to 400. If memory serves, the default setting is quite a bit lower than that. But if you get better fps with no downside, leave it where it is.Regards,Jim

That line is supposed to somehow control the rate at which textures are loaded to the GPU. But I've tried settings ranging from 0 to 1000 and see absolutely no difference in performance. It appears this is another MS system-specific thingie.Doug

How come I'm getting a "You can't look at this page - Nyah, Nyah!" message when I try to view this thread?Thanks,Thomas

Interesting, never thought about putting it to 0. Tried that tonight and saw the best performance! Only when switching views do the textures take a while to load, and that was with 100% traffic at KLAX. Thanks for the suggestion! 0 Works for me and I've tried more numbers than I can think of, everything except 0
