Iceland Tour, Part 3

Iceland Tour, Part 3: Isafjordur to Keflavik

This week's join-the-dots.... oops, I mean carefully thought-out flight plan.... will complete our circumnavigation of Iceland, finishing at the international airport at Keflavik from where we can all fly our 777s home (optional!).

Departing where we left off at Isafjordur (BIIS), we will work our way south through the scenic Westfjords region, with stops at Thingeyri (BITE), Bildudalur (BIBD) and Patreksfjordur (BIPA) before we cross the bay to Rif (BIRF) on the Snaefellsnes peninsula.  When we leave Rif we fly south to make a circuit of the Snaefellsjokull glacier-capped volcano, the setting for Jules Verne's novel Journey to the Centre of the Earth, before continuing eastwards to Stykkisholmur (BIST).  We will then have a fairly long leg (sorry, no airports to land at!) back to Reykjavik (BIRK), then a final short hop to the international airport and former airbase at Keflavik (BIKF).

Why on earth do I never see these announcements in 'new posts'? RTW forum is selected in the list. Are you hidden from view from the great unwashed?

Anyway, I'm all a-quiver in expectation of a fine flight.

I see all new posts in this forum, mine or otherwise, in the 'new posts' list.  I have no clue why they wouldn't show up for you, this is the 'public' part of the RTW forum.  Anyone able to shed any light on this?

Stand down everyone. It's just me.  I saw this one OK.

Apart from serious trauma server wise, (since been sorted) that was a very satisfying flight. To be brutally frank, I thought the weather would be atrocious, the light non existent and the flight something to be endured. How wrong can you be?

The server was choking on some .bgl files the were marked as active AND non active, i.e. OFF. I performed the necessary surgery and the patient has recovered. B)
