Joystick (throttle) works on FSX but not Prepar3D 2.4

Hi, I just installed Prepar3D (its been sitting on my computer for two plus weeks), and I am encountering a problem with the throttle not responding to my joystick Logitech Attack3. It works without any problems with FSX, and it works in that ailerons move, etc. but there is no throttle. I have done a search, but the ones I have seen mention other scenarios, but mine has no throttle power whatsoever. If anyone can point me in the right direction it would be appreciated, thanks!!

Have you checked the joystick button and axis assignments in the P3d UI? P3d tends to not quite get the assignments right by default for certain joysticks. For example, I have a Saitek Rudder set and earlier versions of P3d  2.x had the axes mixed up by default. If all else fails, you could buy the full version of FSUIPC and assign buttons and axes that way instead.

The thing I forgot to mention is that until a few days ago I had FSX and P3D 2.2 installed in the same computer and the joystick was working perfectly. I decided to do a total uninstall for P3D 2.2 rather than put the update to 2.4, so I followed the uninstall instructions from P3D. Then today I finally got around to installing version 2.4, and that's when the joystick problem started. I checked the interface and it looks to me as it is fine, even opened FSX and compared interfaces and they both looked exactly the same. Regarding doing it thru the fuispc, I have the latest registered version, but I haven't the first clue on how to do what you suggested, are there any step by step instruction?

Thanks for your help.

Thank you very much for the post, I will watch those tutorials later today, after everyone goes to bed. I will like to share what I did in the meantime: I went to Best Buy here and bought a new joystick, a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro, just to see if that would solve my Prepar3D problem.

It apparently did, I just connected that new joystick, calibrated it and just like that the throttle problem is solved. I will also say that there is a huge difference between my old Attack3 joystick and this new one.

I still would like to know why the old one worked in FSX but not in Prepar3D.

Update. Today I fired up Prepar3D with the new joystick, throttle worked, but as I was lining up on the runway the rudder starting to have a life of its own, unable to control it. Tried to recalibrate, tried uninstalling the software, nothing worked. I did look at the video for fsuipc, but I am sorry and embarrassed to say it is still confusing to me. I do remember noticing yesterday when calibrating there was a step at the end before clicking apply that was missing today from the process, is that the Z rotation? Is there a way to fix that?

Thanks!
