How can I remove static aircraft?

Featured Replies

I am planning to convert MAIW aircraft and ai flight plans to FSX for military traffic in Orbx North America.

That requires adding more parking spaces to places like Elmendorf AFB and Whidbey Island NAS.

How can get rid of that line of static helicopters at Elmendorf AFB in Anchorage?

The tires are worn.  The shocks are shot.  The steering is wobbly.  But the engine still runs fine.

Try Scruffyduck's freeware Airport Design Editor, or use Instant Scenery 3 by Flight1.

I tried to exclude them with the exclude boxes in AFX but that doesn't work..I downloaded ADE but it looks like I'm at the bottom of the learning curve for that one.  I might give Instant Scenery 3 a shot.

Thanx

Perhaps ask over at Orbx when it comes to where/how they have defined the static ac. I would assume the objects file (they have pretty clear naming conventions, so those are easy to find) but that's just a guess.

I did ask over at Orbx on the limited user's support forum.  The only reply I got was from Holger who recommended I get ADE.

I did download and install ADE but I don't know that I want to install SDK and everything that goes with ADE and start learning something new again.  I'm getting a little long in tooth for that anymore.  I think I'll just give up on the project.

BTW...Instant Scenery 3 doesn't work at PAED either.

You shouldn't exclude them, but delete them. The ADE manual is pretty good, and if you can't find out how to do it there, try asking Scruffyduck or anyone at the FSDeveloper forums.

You're right Simmerhead, but at my age I have lost the desire to embark on new technology or anything I don't already know how to do.  I refuse to buy a smartphone because I don't want to go through the learning curve of making it work for me even though my great grandson is willing to teach me.  This old dog doesn't want to learn new tricks.

I was able to delete some statics at Snohomish with Instant Scenery 3, but can't seem to get rid of them at some of the Orbx EU freeware airports. Wish they would establish some sort of common procedure.
