SX Airport Design EGTE Exeter

Featured Replies

Does anyone know if the SX Airport Design EGTE Exeter airport package is compatible with Horizon VFR Generation X photographic scenery?

The scenery has a photoreal suroundng area, so it probably is.

I've found that airfields designed for Generation X work OK with VFR real, so generally they will work with most if not all photosceneries.

However, you may find that the colours f the surrounding fields may not quite match - I've never found it too much of an issue though.

So I can't say for sure,  I think it will probably be OK, but you would need to ask the designer/vendor to be certain - unless someone who has it comments.

Slight colour mismatch is not a problem. That is inevitable with photoscenery. The updated version of EGTE Exeter in UK2000 VFR Airfields Volume 1 is certainly an improvement over the original, but I need more detailed buildings and textures these days in my large airports.

I suppose you could get ADE and have a go at making one yourself or add a few buildings to the UK2000 version.

....or I could purchase the SX Airport Design version. To be honest, I would prefer UK2000 Exeter Xtreme, but Gary only has two pairs of hands  It's a shame that ORBx decided to stop development of UK airports. I think that FTX EGHI Southampton sold almost as many copies as all of the small airfields put together, so I am puzzled why JV didn't think that it would be worth concentrating on other regional airports like EGTE Exeter, EGHH Bournemouth, or EGMC Southend. Gary will be concentrating on EGBB Birmingham version 3 next, and then (hopefully) he can finally get to EGPD Aberdeen (which is probably the most important large UK airport that has so far not been released in super detail format).
