December 2, 201411 yr Hi I am using the HUD more and more for ngx flight. It works really well and makes accurate hand flying much easier. I have noticed that when flying in strong winds the FPV drifts left and right of centre. Does anyone know why this is? Is it because the aircraft is left or right of track? Any help would be much appreciated . Regards RoyH
December 2, 201411 yr That's what it should do. A strong wind will "blow" the aircraft off course from where the nose is headed. It's the same reason you need to crab on a cross wind landing, and the same thing you need to understand to know the difference between track and heading on a navigation plot. Eric Szczesniak
December 2, 201411 yr Hi, I hope that this will help: Displays flight path angle and drift angle when selected on EFIS control panel. Flight path angle displays relative to the horizon line. Drift angle is represented by the perpendicular distance from the centerline of the pitch scale to the FPV symbol. Regards, Alex
