December 12, 201411 yr I've been having a problem with several AI aircraft being very highly reflective. I don't have the time right now to load up FSX, find one, take a screenshot, then upload/post it, but here is a picture from a thread on flightsim.com. The aircraft that I have noticed with this problem (The UTT 787 in the Qatar livery and the AIM CRJ-200 in the American Eagle/Skywest livery) look exactly like the aircraft pictured in that they have this metallic sheen to them: http://www.flightsim.com/vbfs/attachment.php?attachmentid=132406&d=1345326600%C2'> I have followed the suggestions in the thread using the Qatar UTT 787 livery and have changed the Alpha channel to pure white, but the problem is still there. In fact, I noticed something interesting. Prior to my edits the Alpha was mostly black with white 'cutouts' for the tail. In-sim, the tail did not have a metallic sheen. However, after editing the alpha to be all white, the tail had the sheen along with the rest of the fuselage/wings.
December 15, 201411 yr Perhaps the reflectivity is in the model itself? My computer: ABS Gladiator Gaming PC featuring an Intel 10700F CPU, EVGA CLC-240 AIO cooler (dead fans replaced with Noctua fans), Asus Tuf Gaming B460M Plus motherboard, 16GB DDR4-3000 RAM, 1 TB NVMe SSD, EVGA RTX3070 FTW3 video card, dead EVGA 750 watt power supply replaced with Antec 900 watt PSU.
December 15, 201411 yr Author Perhaps the reflectivity is in the model itself? It isn't, because (I probably should have mentioned this in my OP) other repaints for the 787 and CRJ look just fine. I looked at these working ones, and they have a white alpha layer like I modified the Qatar one to have.
