After being assigned a runway and vectors, I would ask for full ILS approach then in case of multiple approaches, vox would pick one for me but not necessarily than one I want. Is there a format to ask for a specific approach?  

It would be nice t pick your own approach (ILS or visual)  and ............ also, departure runway (sometimes there is one next to your parking but VOXatc selects one on the other side of the airport ... very long taxi time).

I think you can ask for a different runway on both departure and arrival. Just hit 0 and a menu would come up and you can select it.

Sometimes I have FO doing COMMS!

even if you have the FO doing comms. After getting clearence, you can hit 0 and select a different runway and the FO will ask for it. As for approach, right after getting assigned a runway.

It was my error ... I was hitting "O" the letter instead of the "0" zero!
