May 11, 200521 yr My fellow simmers,I have been searching the forums and did not find the exact answer I was looking for. Basically I would like to know how smooth the gauges refresh rate is from the VC, primiraly the PFD & ND.I am not asking about FPS, or the 2DI option. I remember reading post about the 737-900 VCE had bad refresh rate. Please let me know... Thank you very much in advance.John
May 11, 200521 yr Hi,I have purchased the new B737-700 NG VCe with the 2Di panel. And I have to admit that I havn Staffan
May 11, 200521 yr The 2di option is making it all very fluid. However, if your not flying REALLY precision approaches, i dont find it disturbing the the default VC gauges arent that fluid. However this is up to everyones desire, some demand fluid gauges, some dont.I think that might be the reason ariane implementet the 2Di option. On the other side, i find myself enjoying this aircraft at the most, in visual approches. The air file is so fluid and nice with this aircraft, that its simply a pure joy handflying it down to the tarmac. So to your question:The "default" VC gauges are about as fluid as anyone elses in the same category.Maybe more or maybe less fluid.I have done none testing on it, and cant refer to any numbers.Using the 2Di option, the gauges will be very fluid. For those needing the fluidity, i guess the best option is the use the "default" VC during most phases of flight, and the 2Di on the approaches.
May 11, 200521 yr ive asked this once before in another thread but noone obliged:-)...can you guys who own this plane please post some screens i the screenshot forum that shows what the 2Di looks like from the proper captains perspective, and maybe another to compare it to 3d?ive never seen the 2Di thing and would really like to...maybe 1 shot during dalylight and one at night?Thank you thank you thank you! May 11, 200521 yr Thank you Stafan and Svein for the information and screenshot :) . I think I will take the plunge and hope to enjoy this product as it looks promising. Happy landings!John
May 11, 200521 yr I have the aircraft and it works for me.Ironicaly, there is a former 737 pilot two doors down from me, (in my case that's about 12 miles), who happened to come over to look at a horse. In the process of making him out a bill of sale in my office, he noticed the FS equipment and he is also a simmer, a most serious one. We talked some time about the different 737's available and although he was very much in favor of the PMDG until recently, he also told me he had gotten the Ariane 700 and thought it had the most accurate flight model of any he had flown. We meet every Weds night now, switching houses and fly together, nice guy, great pilot and he's turned into quite a horseman. Seeing he has the PMDG and Ariane and perfers the Ariane was one of the reasons I broke down and got mine . . . I have no regrets.Best to all, Clayhttp://www.dreamfleet2000.com/gfx/images/F...ers/Dopke01.jpgClayton T. Dopke (Clay)Major, USAF (retired)"Drac"
May 11, 200521 yr That should make quite a good sales argument for the Ariane.Although i have to say i have always considered the Ariane to have the most accurate model.Just check my earlier review made august last year i think:)
May 11, 200521 yr I'd love to buy it, but heres why I won't (maybe Ariane is listening!)1. Too expensive (for me).2. No free Liveries, 3. No ability to change the avionics to Southwest's (and other airline's) style. Otherwise, it sounds like a good package.
