Which is better...the C340 or the Baron 58?

Featured Replies

I'm mulling one of these twins, though, I'm not relishing trying to futz with putting RXP units in the VC.  What's the verdict on them?  Which is better?  Any significant bugs or missing functionality?

Heya Gregg,

I cannot comment on the full functionality of the Baron, but I purchased it because "everyone needs a Baron".

I also did the turbo mods from HawkDSL and his sound mods and they are really nice additions.

From your perspective, I am definitely a "flying the magenta line" kind of pilot, but do enjoy the Baron. I flew the stock Baron in the "Western Roundup" and got kind of attached, so the Carenado upgrade was a slam-dunk.

Thanks John.  Looks like I missed the sale anyway.  I'll wait until next year and see how things are then.

I own them both and feel the C340 has better overal VC texturing, immersion, and sounds.

Thanks.  I watched a few youtube videos of it and the sounds were good.  Seemed like the forums liked it better too.

I think it flies nicer too Gregg.   It has a heavier feel than most of Carenado's aircraft.  Just feels 'real' where some of their offerings do feel a little like the 'flying textures' that some people talk of.

If you go for the 340 Gregg, I'd highly recommend this too ;-

It's the C340 that Carenado based their avionics fit etc on.

Thanks David.  I'll keep them both in mind (the 340 and the video).
