MCE, RC4 & GSX from different sound source?

Featured Replies

Is there anyway to have FSX sound from speakers and both RC4, MCE and GSX sound from usb headphones? Aircraft engine sound in Aerosoft Dash6 is drowning out ATC and MCE.

Secondly, having difficulty having RC4 acknowledge commands. Are there any CPU settings in MCE which would help this?

Thanks,

Stuart

If running Windows Vista or higher, be aware Windows uses a separate volume slider for each running app.

With RC4, MCE ad FSX running, look at the system tray (bottom right of the screen). Look for audio icon and right-click it. A click on "Mixer" should reveal those sliders. It's then just a matter of adjusting them relative to each other. For instance, you could make MCE audio the loudest.

To prevent Windows auto-adjusting those sliders (believe it or not, it is actually a Windows feature), assuming you're running WIndows 7 or higher, go to Windows Control Panel and start <Audio> applet. Under <Communications> tab select option (Do Nothing).

That should do it.

Thanks. I have tried adjusting those levels too, but already have FSX quite low on those sliders.

I might try Indie volume program but not sure if it works with Windows 7, having read some forum posts.
