May 21, 200521 yr Hi Kilstorm,You have a few options, some of it is depending on what you really want to accomplish.First, you can turn off the AI traffic altogether, you will not have any background chatter because there is no-one else to talk to... you will also get rid of all visual traffic as well with this option (which will improve frame rates) but you will retain ability to hear what ATC is saying to you (and your response if set-up this way).Another option is to turn off the ATC sound, with this you can retain visual traffic but you will not hear any sounds including ATC talking to you (and your response if set that way). You will still be able to bring up the ATC dialogue box and read ATC commands and make selections just like normal.Hope this helps,Zane Dr Zane Gard Sr Staff Reviewer AVSIM Private Pilot ASEL since 1986 IFR 2010 AOPA 00915027 American Mensa 100314888
May 21, 200521 yr No what I'm looking to do is get rid of the chatter noise that you hear in the background when ATC talks. I'm using voice edit and I have the "turn next taxi way" removed but you still hear the chatter loop when it should be used. So I'm looking for that loop file.Kilstorm
May 22, 200521 yr Use EditVoicepack (www.editvoicepack.com) to create a new "Phreaseology" modification. Use identifier "BACKGROUND_LOOP_CONTROLLER", set the Force Variation checkbox and leave the variation at 0.Find an existing phrase with some silence in it and copy the "silence" to the sound segments (see the EditVoicepack tutorials for details on how to do this). This should in theory do the trick - not that I have tried though.
May 23, 200521 yr Author Its not bleed through, its the sound of the other controllers in the room talking at the same time. This is actually pretty realistic at busy centers where on open mic you can hear other controllers faintly in the background...Mike T.
