January 14, 201511 yr Hey guys. I've been scouting the web for days now, nothing. I've even tried all of the fixes suggested on these Forums - downloading the new Visual Redistribution packages, disabling RAASPRO, etc. Nothing works. P3D loads up my aircraft, works fine for a second or two, then freezes and the white screen comes up. Here is my Event Viewer record: Faulting application name: Prepar3D.exe, version: 2.4.11570.0, time stamp: 0x542314d3 Faulting module name: MSVCR100.dll, version: 10.0.40219.325, time stamp: 0x4df2be1e Exception code: 0xc0000005 Fault offset: 0x00001fd4 Faulting process id: 0x14d0 Faulting application start time: 0x01d02f946fb2f95f Faulting application path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v2\Prepar3D.exe Faulting module path: C:\Windows\system32\MSVCR100.dll Report Id: 1c3cb7b9-9b88-11e4-99e4-848f69f5eb5f Over all my crash reports, the faulting process ID, report ID and the application start time change. That's it. Do you have any fixes?Thank you so much. Alec Liberman Alec Liberman. Real world student pilot. VATSIM ZBW S3 controller. January 14, 201511 yr Hey guys. I've been scouting the web for days now, nothing. I've even tried all of the fixes suggested on these Forums - downloading the new Visual Redistribution packages Reinstall Microsoft Visual C++2010. See the AVSIM CTD Guide for a link and more information about Microsoft Visual C++ crashes. The 2010 version that is shown as the faulting module is the latest version but there could have been some corruption. Microsoft Visuals C++ are used by developers to make sure their application was installed properly (you know, make the proper registry entries, put items in hidden folders, etc.). So it might be telling you that there is a problem with your installation of an app that uses Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 and P3DV2 is one of those apps. You have the proper version of P3D installed, but, like me, you have your installation in the default x86 folder and all of the computer experts say that's a no, no. In order for the application to work properly in the x86 folder, you have to make sure User Access Controls are turned off. You have to make sure that when you install a product in this folder you have to right click the execute program as select Run as Administrator. You have to make sure any anti-virus program was disabled during the installation. You have to make sure you, as the user, has ownership (see take ownership in the AVSIM CTD Guide). You have to make sure the Prepar3DV2 folder is being shared with everyone (right click the folder, select properties, and make sure the Sharing tab states it is being shared). You have to make sure that whenever you start up P3DV2, you should start it as the Administrator. Other than that, I have no further suggestions of a reason for this crash. Like we stated in the AVSIM CTD Guide, most people fix their Microsoft Visual problems by uninstalling the MS Visual and then reinstalling it (using Admin Privileges). You can make sure this is turned on automatically by right clicking the Prepar3D.exe file, selecting Properties, and then looking down at the bottom at the Privilege Level. It should be checked. Hope this helps. Best regards, Jim Young | AVSIM Online! - Simming's Premier Resource! January 14, 201511 yr Author Hi Jim, Thank you for your prompt response. Unfortunately, after trying everything you mentioned (and even running the .NET repair tool as suggested in the CTD Guide), P3D still crashes, with the same problem. Faulting application name: Prepar3D.exe, version: 2.4.11570.0, time stamp: 0x542314d3 Faulting module name: MSVCR100.dll, version: 10.0.40219.325, time stamp: 0x4df2be1e Exception code: 0xc0000005 Fault offset: 0x00001fd4 Faulting process id: 0xaec Faulting application start time: 0x01d02fa362cc7a79 Faulting application path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v2\Prepar3D.exe Faulting module path: C:\Windows\system32\MSVCR100.dll Report Id: 21a6b2be-9b98-11e4-b2ef-848f69f5eb5f I guess a full re-install it is. Now, to compile a list of addons currently used... Alec Liberman. Real world student pilot. VATSIM ZBW S3 controller. P3D v3, [email protected], GTX660, 16 gigs of RAM; too many addons to count.
