LOST MY GPS

Featured Replies

I am a Flight Simmer from New Zealand since FS95 and have always been able to fix a problem myself with time. However I am stuck on the present problem. Currently on FS2004 and working very successfully but I have lost my GPS. Click on the cockpit icon and nothing happens. Wont work with keyboard strokes. If I can bring up the GPS box [on some aircraft] its a black square. Therefore looks like I have deleted somethings accidently.Short of unstalling and reinstalling can someone advise me how to recover this and into which folder. I have tried everything but no luck.Flight Simming is a wonderful to relax after a hard days work and to fly and forget tomorrows problems is great.

Open the panel.cfg of the plane with the faulty GPS.Look for the [Window Titles] entries, they look like this:[Window Titles]Window1=panelWindow2=throttleWindow3=GPS :)

Thanks for your response Nevin. Unfortunately all aircraft have lost their GPS and I already tried what you suggested. There has to be a file I have deleted either in gauges or modules folders that has caused this to happen but I cant work out just which one. Will keep trying tonight as I dont want to have to reinstall everything. Have about 10GB of aircraft loaded and that would be a real pain.

Yes I had a feeling that your problem was a little more complicated...sorry it didnt work!I doubt you will have to reinstall...Im sure you can root out the Guages folder from one of the FS9 installation CDs and just copy that into your FS9 installation.Id be surprised if that was not possible.Hang tight and wait for replies from the others!!:)

I think you'll find the fs9gps.cab file on CD#2. It's one of those nested .CAB's. The path is CD#2MSGAME3.CABfs9gps.cab . Doug

Hi all - it worked a treat. Back to perfect again and I want to thank all of you that contributed. Should have joined this forum years ago and would have saved myself a lot of headaches, hours working out where I had gone wrong and sleepless nights working out fixes.A hearty thank you all

Glad it all worked out. And welcome to the forum.Doug
