May 24, 200521 yr When you are online and ATC changes your FS9 flight plan it can be difficult to find the navaids in flight planner.remember FS98 had a search feature it was slow but worked eventually. What happened to it!!With freeware glass cockpit and vector gauges linked to it I am sure there are others feeling the same. I use SFP plans that can convert to FS9 but it is slow .Any ideas
May 24, 200521 yr i have some ideas for now:A:search for the preferred route between your airports of choice.this you can do on the website of the ARTCC's you will fly from, through,or to.B:get fsnav, lotsa folks say you need it for online flying.i however, say you don't,it's all in the preparation ;)it might be easier for you though,it is payware, however.C:get fsbuild,a good flightplanner containing lots of preferred routes.i do not use it (yet) but it too is rumoured to be a great tool.based on user comments i can only say it certainly looks like a great tool :)also payware.D:fly with the words "direct gps" in your flightplan.this however, entirely spoils the fun(for me atleast ;) )tataJP.
May 25, 200521 yr Author With online ATC the Flight plans you make using Flight Planners are not always real plans. You will be asked to amend the FP by ATC on IVAO or VATSIM.This can delay you as the FS will pause while you attempt to look for the navaid .Then ATC will come back ..why are you paused %^$
May 25, 200521 yr FS Nav flight plan takes about 2 minutes at the most to compile and load into FS9. I don't fly without it. http://www.fsnavigator.com/You can download a free trial version and see if you like it.
May 25, 200521 yr Author Yes I had the trial but my son used up the 20 free tries.!! I will try to get it again. Does it make real world flight plans?
May 26, 200521 yr I am a member of the 'Flight Sim Users group' and I don't know of ANYONE that fly's without it.It was the first shareware I ever payed for and I still rate it as the best!I really would not be without it.Dave T. Dave Taylor
