Does FSX Steam version work better with Windows 8.1 than the original FSX?

With the original version I crash to the desktop a lot. So I was hoping the Steam version would work without crashes.

 

Appreciate any thoughts on this.

Yes it does. It was recompiled with the latest compiler so it better compatible with Windows 8
