January 29, 201511 yr I much prefer to have the AP mode controller where I can see it, rather than down on the floor. That is one of the reasons I like the B1900 better than the King Airs. February 4, 201511 yr King Air 250/350 with Pro Line 21. AP/FD Mode panel under the Warning Panel. When you are flying the King Air, even those with the FD/AP on the lower pedestal it is not that hard to reach and use. As your hand drops from the Power levers it falls right onto the FD/AP panel. It sits just slightly lower than your lap. Very easy to use.
