February 2, 201511 yr taxiing along, suddenly the airplane swerves and the "Deferential Brake" text flashes. I did some looking in FSUIPC and I see that both left and right toe brakes as sending very fast spurious signals. Other than getting a new set of pedals or disassembling these to try and clean things up, is there a work around that anyone has come up with? I've tried setting the toe brake values so that they shouldn't engage until they are pressed about 1/4 of the way but, those signals are still applying the brakes at the wrong times.

Unfortunately, the only solution is disassembly. Spurious output signals usually mean either that the brake potentiometers are dirty, and need a shot of electrical contact cleaning spray, and/or the wire connections on the pots are loose. CH uses push-on terminals on the potentiometers in their yoke and pedal controllers. These can and do loosen up in time and cause spikes. I disassembled both my CH yoke and pedals quite a long time ago, and permanently soldered the wires to the potentiometer contacts, which has eliminated almost all spikes ever since. Disassembling the units can be a bit of a pain if you have never done it before, but I believe there are some YouTube videos that show how to do it. February 3, 201511 yr Author Thanks Jim. Looks like I'll break out the screwdriver, pliers, and BFH tomorrow. I found a distinct lack f video concerning this kind of thing so, maybe I'll set up the video camera and make one as I go...
