REINSTLLING FS

Featured Replies

Deleting just the Microsoft Games folder will not completely uninstall the game. As per best programming/user interface practices on Windows operating systems, configuration data is stored in your user profile folder under the Application Data folder, which by default is hidden. You will need to remove any Flight Sim folder(s) in there. When you reinstalled, the installer did not overwrite the configuration data in this folder. So when you started Flight Sim again, you had the same configuration.

and where do i find these files?

The files you didn't properly delete can be found in Documents and SettingsYourUserIDApplication DataMicrosoftFS9 and My DocumentsFlight Simulator Files. But, somehow, I don't think it's MS that's lacking the common sense.

Intel 10700K @ 5.1Ghz, Asus Hero Maximus motherboard, Noctua NH-U12A cooler, Corsair Vengeance Pro 32GB 3200 MHz RAM, RTX 2060 Super GPU, Cooler Master HAF 932 Tower, Thermaltake 1000W Toughpower PSU, Windows 10 Professional 64-Bit, 100TB of disk storage. Klaatu barada nickto.

Please remember that we are dealing with a young person who is just learning about FS04 and computers.Edit: Will, it will help you if you turn on Show Hidden Files and Folders in your Tools/Folder Options/View screen.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Sales and Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg

One thing he doesn't seem to have learned is not to blame everyone else for his own problems.

due to some of my scenery problems i reinstalled FS, the problem is, EVERYTHING REMAINS THE SAME IT REMEMBERS HOW MY FS LAST WAS, the default flight is there, all my settings are as they last were, even the texture files are the same.ive deleted EVERYTHING to do with fs including the 'Flight Simulator Files', but no, FS decides that id like to have my game just as it last was, i mean thats why i deleted it stupid flight sim! if i wanted everything to be the same i wudnt reinstall, MS really do lack common sense.after fiddling with the scenery and installing some new packs it just looks naff and has mucked up how fs looks so i need to reinstall things, but everythings just exactly the same the second its back on my system.plz cud someone help me with this cuz im getting quite wound up again. the only thing that may have caused this is me deleting the folder microsoft games instead of doing it properly; saying this though, i cant, as when i select uninstall it just uninstalls the JCA 717.
