February 6, 201511 yr Got most of my "running out of VAS" problems straightened out, mainly (thanks to various posts) by removing ALL photorealistic scenery and AI traffic (PMDG 737NGX, ASX), but now have infrequently seen a light, transparent gray "fog" over the panel and get the "FSX (Not Responding) and FSX hang-up. Very annoying since not VAS related (supposedly). Has anyone else had this problem and know what could cause it ?? David Hinson

February 7, 201511 yr Could be caused by a lot of things but definitely memory related. Have you tried moving your fsx.cfg to a temp folder, restarting FSX and letting FSX.cfg rebuild? You may have a parameter in the config that is not compatible with your system. If you have no tweaks, then disregard. The AVSIM CTD Guide provides a lot of suggestions for investigating these anomalies. Rebuilding your config is one. Best regards, Jim Young | AVSIM Online! - Simming's Premier Resource! February 7, 201511 yr Author Thanks, Jim. I have not had this problem very often, and did not know this was what is known as CTD. Why is it not known as "FSX Not Responding" ? David Hinson
February 7, 201511 yr Thanks, Jim. I have not had this problem very often, and did not know this was what is known as CTD. Why is it not known as "FSX Not Responding" ? When an app says, "Not Responding", I interpret that as a CTD as FSX is not longer working and you had to shut it down. Best regards, Jim Young | AVSIM Online! - Simming's Premier Resource!
