Periodically Simfreeze every 30 second

Recommended Posts

I did my first flight with the 777 yesterday in P3D.

I notice a periodically simfreeze every +/-30 seconds for about one second.

Is there any P3D setting which is not consistent with the 777 P3D?

Every other aircraft work fine.

It must be any wrong setting in my P3D (I hope so)

Specs: i7 3370k / GTX 970 / 16Gb RAM. So no Hardware issue

I have this issue too...  anyone knows of a tool that would help identify this in Win7? Diskmon or something?

Is it always every 30 seconds or is it more sporadic like 20s then 33s then 27s then 39s etc?

If it's every 30s, then it sound like something is injecting/loading/saving in FSX every 30s.

I know you have great hardware, but this couldn't be due to pushing too high of settings? The 777 is a LOT more detailed than the vast majority (if not all) other P3D addons.

To be honest if I was you I wouldn't be complaining. In FSX I'm lucky to hit 20 FPS in virtual cockpit and even then it's not a smooth 20. In P3D it'll be even lower. Still trying to decide whether to give FSXSE a go...

Settings are in balance.

Lod = 4.5 nothing maxed out.

I try to to set FSUIPC Autosave to 360 sec and make a test flight now.

That was my next solution. Also look at any other programs like ASN or similar.

SOLVED!

Chris thank you for your idea. It is related to FSUIPC Autosave.

I changed to an interval of 600 sec and a short freeze appears every 600 sec.

Maybe the data which gets saved are more than in other aircrafts.

Glad I could help and glad we got that solved for you! I believe when FSX saves, the 777 panel state is also saved (correct me if I'm wrong!) which could explain the periodic stutter you get. 600 seconds is what I've got my FSUIPC auto save set to. I don't see any need for it being higher than once every ten minutes

I have it set at 600s. 10 minutes is a good baseline because if I get a CTD or OOM, I only lose up to 10 mins which doesn't really hurt. One thing to check is disable autosaving on ground and also limit the max number of saves to keep to 5 or 10.
