I know I should be posting this somewhere else, but I know some folks here can help me.

Hello all. I have recently bought the Wilco Airbus Evolution Vol. 2, in hopes of having an awesome A330+A340 and completing this A380 merge.

I love the A330 and A340, but I have two problems (one will be discussed in another thread). After completing the merge and loading the aircraft, the MCDU's keyboard isn't appearing. What I mean is, when I go to Views>...>MCDU, the keyboard's silhouette flashes for a second, then just the MCDU screen appears.

Hi,

I didn't know that the merge had been successful. Downloaded and installed the A380 models for FSX from your lnk above and I encountered the same issue as yourself. If you want to use the 2D MCDU keyboard, you must overwrite the A343CFM_feelThere.dll in the Project Airbus A380-800 folder with the version available from installing the Wilco A340 Evolution 2 in FSX (i.e. purchase of the Wilco A340 is necessary). This will also have the added benefit of enabling weather radar in the navigation display, but will leave strange textures in the VC-based MCDU.

Whilst I am at it, do you get strange rectangles surrounding some of the autopilot knobs in the VC? I don't believe they appear in the FS9 version of the A380, so it could be a shortcoming of porting across a FS9-based VC model into FSX.

By the way, for freeware this isn't too bad at all. The autopilot in particular seems to function exceptionally well. It is a pity that this fine aircraft hasn't received more attention as yet, although I understand that Next Level Simulations are developing the A380 for FSX and P3D with a somewhat indeterminate release date.
