No chenge to Graphics card in FSX.cfg?

Featured Replies

Hello,

Would someone please advise me.

I have FSX on Win 7, high end i7 PC with GeForce GTX 680 running 3 * 60Hz screens in 5760 * 1080

I have just moved to DX10 and have purchased, downloaded and installed Steve's Fix V2.7

Reading a review in Mutleys Hangar it says:

"Incidentally, one example of a change that may come as a surprise to you is that in DX10 mode FSX uses a different DISPLAY.Device entry to DX9. "

.......and goes on to show:

//

// Note that the next line ends with .0 - so it's the DX9 version
[DISPLAY.Device.NVIDIA GeForce GTX 670.0]
Mode=5760x1200x32
Anisotropic=1
//
// Note that this Display Device line ends with .0.0 - so it's the DX10 version
[DISPLAY.Device.NVIDIA GeForce GTX 670.0.0]
Mode=5760x1200x32
Anisotropic=1
AntiAlias=1
//

After switching to DX10 via Steves Controller and DX10 Preview within FSX settings , my FSX.cfg still reads:

[DISPLAY.Device.NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680.0]
Anisotropic=1
Mode=5760x1080x32
AntiAlias=1

Is it a problem that it has not changed to GTX 680.0.0 please? Does that imply that I'm not in DX10 mode?

I think it is working,because in full screen mode on my three screen system  the Alt menu bar suddenly has big chunky text which is different to what was displayed in DX9 previously. I guess that is because I haven't made any changes to NVInspector settings yet.

Would any kind soul who has a three screen system with a GTX680, be willing to post an image of their NV Inspector settings please. My current fine tuned DX9 settings make the un-tuned DX10 graphics look pretty poor, and certainly not a visual improvement over DX9.

Thanks in hopeful anticipation

Andrew.

DX10 doesnt change the existing entry it adds a new one.
