Flying together with a co-pilot

Recommended Posts

Somewhere I read that it should be possible to fly an airplane together with a co-pilot on two different PC's.

Do somebody know how that works and is it also possible for the PMDG 373-....NGX plane?

As of right now, no. PMDG was looking into this so called "shared-cockpit" feature some time ago and could not find a viable solution for it yet, since it would require a lot of development resources, thus turning it into a major project.

It might happen in the coming years once they have a stable and common code basis for the NG, 777 and 747V2 but that's only speculation. To be honest, I'd be willing to pay a lot of money for this particular feature if it worked how it should.

If you really want to fly an airliner with shared-cockpit in the near future you should keep an eye on Majestic's Q400 PRO edition. This one is still in development (and has been for quite a while now) but should come out this year judging by the recent images the developers posted. There are already several youtube videos showcasing the shared-cockpit environment in the Q400 PRO.

I recommend desk pilot. http://desk-pilot.com/

It uses the PMDG sdk to operate on a shared cockpit environment.  It is not without it's flaws of course, being a freeware product.  (for now anyway) as only the captain can do things and only the first officer.  It is a good program for simulating airline procedures.

Hope this helps!
