.....and have just bought myself a new rig.  Spec is

AMD Piledriver FX-6 6 core 6350 Black Edition 3.9GHz

KFA GeForce GTX960 2049MB GDDR5

Team Black 8GB (2 x4GB) DDR3 1600MHz

1TB Seagate Barracuda 7200RPM SATA 6GB/s 64MB cache

550W Super Flower PSU

Not top of the range by any means but it knocks my old system into a cocked hat.

I have the FX 6300.

Are you flight simming ?

I plan to be.

I've been an avid FS9 user for over 8 years.  I have got a large cardboard box of add ons, which I've added to it over the years and the old rig was beginning to creak at the seams.

I'm hoping the new rig will handle FSX a lot better with add ons, some of my old one s which were dual FS9/FSX and some I'll have to buy new.

I'm also interested in train sims as well.

Will you let us know how the AMD/GTX setup goes? All I've ever heard is "INTEL i7 overclocked to 7.4Ghz and GTX5000(kidding) is THE ONLY WAY TO GET GOOD FSX" lmao...

Hmmm this FX CPU may not be good around densely populated city areas in Fsx. I had it pulled to 4.4 on Air but made not much of a difference in Toronto.

You want a smoother ride than yes it is Intel.

AMD GPU do not have any problems whatsoever with Fsx. That was earlier due to the shader which was causing performance issues with clouds but not anymore.
