Joystick button assignment file

Featured Replies

Does anyone know which file FS9 stores the joystick buttons & keyboard key assignments after you configure them within FS9?

Hello, they are stored in the FS9 CFG. If you are not aware, this is a hidden file, unless you change your views to show hidden files and folders. When you open the my computer folder, there is the tool bar at the top. Just select tools, folder options, then hit the view tab. You will see the radio button to select for this option, then hit apply. Then open the following folders in this order to get there. Click C drive, Documents and settings, your user folder, application data, microsoft, then in that folder, you will see the fs9 folder. Open the FS9cfg with note pad. NOTE:Be sure to uncheck the open with this everytime first. I have Win2000pro, so your system may look different as to navigate around. I hope this helps you. If you know your way around the computer, I am sorry for being so overly descriptive. Let us know how you make out. Just make sure you ask here in the forums as it can and will save you problems. The FS9 CFG is the root of the sim. Best regards, Jeff

Thanks Jeff! I thought it was probably FS9.cfg but wanted to make sure. I just ordered a new computer and was in the process of backing up my FS9 critical files.
