to install a piece of s/w on my computer so they can monitor my FSim activity. This was in response to the survey many of us took. The Q I have is.. Is this legit? Are any of you guys participating in this?I am a little paranoid after all the adwares. Would it hog my system?

Sounds a bit dangerous to me and for some reason I don't want to think that Microsoft officially does something like that. Maybe some fool is joking again and thinks he can now have a reason to spy on a group of people.I would trust it only when you will be able to download it either from MS FS official website or from Microsoft Download Center.

There is another thread on this same topic. Doh!

This is perfectly legitimate and has been known in advance for months. Don't you folks read the forums to keep up with current events? :-hmmm

MannyWhat puzzles me is that you are responding to this as if you have just recieved "unsolicited mail".You obviously responded wanting to be involved in the MS survey where this was all explained. You then went ahead and filled in the questionaire with the hope that you would be chosen and accepted. Now you have you are questioning the whole thing. Why if you didnt want this sort of activity monitoring did you apply in the first place?Peter

I responded to the survey about FSim, Sure.. but I didn't realize that I would be called for something. So I was not expecting anything. There is no problem with me doing this really. I don't mind MS monitoring my FSim activity.. but I sure don't want any adagency or worse some crook monitoring me. The link they gave is an IP address..not a microsoft web site... I am Just checking if it is legitimate.. is all.Just because I am paranoid, doesn't mean they are not out to get me. ;)
