Featured Replies

Hi I bought the pmdg 777 and fs2crew some days ago. 2 days ago I made my First flight from loww to vhhh and After about 6 hours of flying Fsx freezed without loosing fps or something else. After trying to fix this problem, suddendly everything worked normal again and I could finish my flight. Yesterday I grad After about 9 hours the same problem. Unfortunately I could not solve the problem and I had to restart fsx. With Time compression I tried to fly a Little big faster and then I Haf the same Problem. Third try I did not have this problem. Can you help me to solve it. It is Crazy because it happened suddendly everything time no Warnung such as the bing of oom.

The introduction document discusses the 'freeze' also known as appHang.  As already recommended by Oliver, have you set an affinity mask value?

My affinity mask value is 14. should I chance it in a different value? If yes what kind of blaue would be good?

I have 4 cores without hyperthreading. Last year hyperthreading was activated and I used pmdg 747-800 and My fsx freezed everything 30min. After deactivating hyperthreading the problem was solved. Now I bought pmdg 777 and I have a Seminar Problem but fsx freezes only once per flight and sometimes I am even able to fly again. Yesterday I tried to fly the same route and fsx freezed again after several minutes I could minimize fsx and used the window mode and everything worked as nothing hans happened before. What could be the problem

Benjamin, what OS do you have?  Do you have Process Explorer?  If you have process explorer use it to look at activity in each of your cores during next freeze.  The activity that is normally spread out in 3 or your 4 cores (jAF=14) may be restricted to just one core.  I found this happening with Vista, and after updating to new CPU and Win7 (for other reasons) I have not had a single freeze.  I used to have a daily freeze, now after months I have had none. I am convinced it has something to do with the OS but I can guess what it might be.

Process Explorer is free:

The single core usage during a freeze, as described by Dan, happened to me on W7 as well, but not yet with AF=14. (Typically a single active core only, but not with each freeze. Sometimes it could be 2 or 3 cores, or hardly any CPU activity at all.)

Benjamin, how long do you wait for the freeze to resolve by itself? It often takes around 8 min for the sim to unfreeze.

My system is win7. I wait At least 5 min maybe longer. Last Time I could resolve it with chancing in window mode. But it is strange that I did not have this problem with pmdg 747-800 and I did not chance anything else. Is there any possibility to solve it
