April 5, 201511 yr Taking advantage of the FSGenesis Easter sale, I purchased USA and Alaska/Hawaii, the question is what if anything should be disabled in ORBX or/and the Scenery Library for FSGenesis mesh to work. Alk/Haw installs into the FSX library so I would think it should be placed under ORBX. With USA being installed into Scenery-World-Scenery should ORBX mesh and custom folders be disabled. I have UTX USA and all west coast USA ORBX installed. Any help would be appreciated. Regards Echofox
April 6, 201511 yr I ran that combo (with and without UTX) for a long time without disabling anything - whoever has the higher mesh (such as you would find at an Orbx airport) "wins". You may find some anomalies now and then, such as a river running along the side of a canyon versus the bottom, due to a mismatch in mesh. This is due to Orbx using Pilots mesh instead of FSGenesis. I also found there were some subtle, some not so subtle, conflicts in mesh, where scenery would suddenly get higher or lower as the got closer while flying. This why I sprang for the Pilots Ultimate mesh - no more mesh popping. However, buying during a sale is good - the Pilot's stuff is *expensive*! April 6, 201511 yr Author Many thanks for your reply, I was just about to order FSG but now really considering Pilots Ultimate. Could you confirm that I am looking at -FS Global Ultimate - The Americas (FS9/FSX/P3D) Standard - on Pilots website. I have FSG in FS9 but would really like better FSX mesh to compliment UT in out of Orbx areas, eg., Eastern US States, plus other Western areas. I am in the UK but have travelled extensively in these areas and enjoy sim flying there. Regards Echofox
April 6, 201511 yr That's the one! It is shipped via a slow boat, so just be aware of the lead times. Steve sends status messages to let you know what is happening, though.
