June 24, 200520 yr Is there a way to quickly toggle AI on and off? While I like all the AI I have most of the time, trying to land in a busy airspace is a real frame rate killer for me, and it would be nice to be able to quickly toggle AI off at those times without have to pause the sim and do it through the options dialog.I did a little googling, and think it may be possible with FSUIPC. Would anybody know for sure? Or an alternative?TIA.Basil
June 24, 200520 yr Hi,With the paid version of FSUIPC, yes it is. You can assign a keystroke to set AI to zero %.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Sales and Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg
June 24, 200520 yr Author Moderator Basil,Just to add to Jim's reply... Toggle Ai Traffic in a registered version of FSUIPC will set Ai traffic to zero on the first push and to your original level on the second push.Cheers, Ray (Cheshire, England). June 25, 200520 yr Jim and Ray...Thanks for the information. Looks like a good reason to spend a bit more on getting back into the flight sim scene. (Let's see, today I purchased the new ActiveSky , yesterday Ultimate Traffic and Ultimate Terrain; anybody else want to dip into my wallet?)Basil
June 25, 200520 yr Author Moderator Basil,You've made some good choices there. If you like logging all details of your flights FS Flight Keeper is a superb product... www.molitor-home.de/fs/FLKeeper/default.asp The download page has a free trial version so you can assess it before dusting off that wallet again :-)Cheers, Ray (Cheshire, England). July 9, 200520 yr Hello Ray and Jim,Maybe I'm just plain stupid, but I just can't seem to figure out exactly how to do this.I have a registered version of FSUIPC, but in all the tabs I can't seem to find the option of toggling AI.Could either of you or anyone else be a bit more specific. Thanks & Greetings
July 9, 200520 yr Can anyone tell me how to do this with FSUIPCI have a registered version, but I just can't seem to find which of the ten tabs in FSUIPC this magic setting is.There doesn't appear to be a keystroke combination given in the learning centre "complete list" to toggle the AI on or off. Thanks & GreetingsDave BritziusCape Town
July 9, 200520 yr I can't find it either so cannot help you with that. However I use fsaisv1.1.zip which stops go arounds and you can sort the AI traffic out to some extent by setting up exclusion areas for want of a better phrase. Available in the Avism library. Never had a go around since I started using it and frame rates better around busy 'dromes such as LHR. William Hall
July 9, 200520 yr I've coded it to a "Control-A" keystroke ("A" for "AI") on the "Keys" tab. The control you want is "Traffic Density Toggle." It took me a while looking through the list to figure out that this is what I wanted. I was expecting to find it nearer the top of the list (like "AI toggle").Works great.Basil
July 9, 200520 yr Hi Dave,I don't own it, but I believe it is in the key assignemnt list and not in a tab.Edit: Your answer is at the end of these posts!Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Sales and Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg
July 11, 200520 yr Thanks Basil and JimI finally figured out what you all meant :-)Just to make it a bit clearer for those who haven't quite got it yet:1] Select the tab "keys" in a registered copy of FSUIPC2] Pick the button "set" and type in an unused key combination.4] Pick the drop-down arrow in the list box "Control sent when keys pressed".5] Select "Traffic Density Toggle"I went a step further and assigned:Control/Alt/Shift 1 to "Traffic Density Set" and Parameter "10" to automatically assign a traffic density of 10% Control/Alt/Shift 2 to "Traffic Density Set" and Parameter "10" to automatically assign a traffic density of 20% .... and so on up to ... Control/Alt/Shift 9 to "Traffic Density Set" and Parameter "10" to automatically assign a traffic density of 90% and then finally:Control/Alt/Shift 0 to "Traffic Density Toggle" to simply toggle 100% traffic density on or totally off.If you use a traffic addon like MYTRAFFIC, the results can be fascinating!Greetings
