June 22, 200421 yr Congratulations on your Web site. I just spent a good long time reading there, but I'm a slow reader, and had to stop just as you were leaving for OTS, which I would think would have been the best part. So I'm reminded of Zach showing up for basic training in An Officer and a Gentleman, which is my favorite film. I just love that time of life, when a young fellow decides to join the military and all the excitement that goes with it.When I was a young chap in England I'd go to the public library and I found this great book about the experiences of a fellow who joined the USAF to become a pilot. I probably read it, or parts of it, twice. As I remember it was a unique book, because I could find nothing else like it. And I would have read more of them, that's for sure. (I did preliminary RAF air crew tests at Biggin Hill, but I'm color blind so it wasn't to be for me; however, I did give my best friend some advice about the interview process there, and he was awarded an RAF scholarship to train for a private pilot's license...and I think I helped!)So I can't help wondering if you might want to expand your Web narrative into a book at some point. It's just a thought, but my guess would be that a down-to-earth first-person account of what it takes to get accepted for pilot training, along with all that helpful advice you give, would have a ready readership, though obviously you'd have to enjoy writing volumes of material. I bet the Air Force would appreciate it too. But perhaps there are similar books available now--I just don't know. One quick point: I was wondering why there weren't some photos to go along with the narrative, then I came across some groups of thumbnail shots, but when I clicked on them they wouldn't open. I had to right-click and open them in a separate window, so you might want to check into the HTML code for those.Well good luck, and thanks again.
June 22, 200421 yr Author If you're going to get there early, I think you can park on the west side (Aero Center side), but you won't be able to return to your car till after the show. You might check out: http://www.kcairshow.com/ for better details.
