Reality Xp 530

Featured Replies

Hello, Anyone know if the Reality Xp GPS's offer terrain mapping? I have the 530 it doesn't offer terrain mapping. Does their 430 offer terrain mapping? Thanks,

The proper question is, "Does Garmin's 430 offer terrain mapping?" The answer is no. Reality XP is using Garmin's trainer. If the Garmin has it, the Reality XP version probably does as well. The 430 is basically the same unit as the 530, but with a smaller display screen and a few less buttons.Tony

Rgr Yeah I am like that GPS.. But I am jonsing for some terrain mapping... I have just got involved in the bush thing and some aircraft I need it don't have the umf to climb some cliffs gotta hug the terrain (grin)... Thank Ya Sir,

If you have a pda you can do what I do for about $289-http://www.anywheremap.com/pages/aviation-gps.aspxThis not only gives you the terrain, and even colors it in warning colors as you fly, but does a whole slew of other things the Garmin can't even get close to at a fraction of the price.Of course not certified-but great for backup to a certified gps-a lot more powerful than the kln94 I use and much easier to use.Flight One even has a FS utility that allows FS to drive the ipaq-best moving map you can get!http://mywebpages.comcast.net/geofa/pages/rxp-pilot.jpg

I've never seen this before. Are you saying that Flight1 has a utility that will drive AnywhereMap on your PDA so that you can follow along while you're flying in FS9?I looked at Flight1's site and didn't find anything like that.

Hi Geof,The link doesn't function (anymore)Is there another page available or do you have the name of the software, so I can google.

Check a bunch of forums below this one for theFSGARMIN ... forumIt's for the old and original implementation of the Garmin 530 ... and for the Avidyne Flightmax ... for terrain following ... all the info is there and best of all it's freeware.

Hi,have a look at http://www.ranainside.com/software_flightsim_movingmap.html for a moving map utility that utilizes the kneeboard. US VFR sectional charts that run with the software are available here at the library.Another more professional solution is OziExplorer used as moving map connected to FS with Pete Dowson

Cool Hey Thanks for sharing the wealth there... Thank You
