July 6, 200520 yr I am trying to get some AI military traffic at KEDW. I used some flightplans that I found. I have two AFCADS for KEDW. One is the default one (NAMWSceneryAP920160.bgl)and the other is AF2_KEDW.bgl by Dave O'Brien in Addon SceneryScenery. Both have the same reference point of N34 54.3262, W117 53.0229 and 2,302' elevation. My problem is that the military AI float above the taxiways and runways as shown in the screenshot here. When I go into FS2004 and set my A/C at a spot or on the runway the planes elevation is correct as shown here with the F-18 Blue Angels A/C. How can I get the AI to be at the right elevation? I have never had this problem before at any A/P. The elevation in airports.txt is 2,302' and the coordinates match the AFCADS. Thanks and best regards to all, Bob.
July 7, 200520 yr Author Cancel this request. The elevation was wrong in the stock AFCAD. I found a package by Dave O'Brien with a readme explaining the problem After adjusting the elevation all is well. Regards, Bob.
July 7, 200520 yr Also, make sure you remove all but one beyond the default AFCAD since you tried a couple. There can only be one besides stock.Glad you got it solved.
July 7, 200520 yr Author Hi Ronzie. Thanks. Where is information like that available about AFCADS? I still don't understand how AFCADS work. I'd sure like to find a source of detailed info like that. Do they just set the altitude for AI. Why was it that when I set my F-18 A/C at the same area that the AI was at the F-18 was on the ground and the AI floating? What info is set by the default and what by the modified AFCAD? What altitude should be in the airports.txt? Is it the default altitude or the altitude of the modified AFCAD? Thanks, regards, Bob.
