Shooting Stars?

Featured Replies

Well, just to take a different approach here: I've seen Shooting Stars in FS2002, the Lockheed F-80 and T-33 and they were based at Perrin AFB and even flew over Plano, Texas! :D-GeorgeM at 5B6

I have seen more shooting stars in my own backyard, than I have on FS9. I think I saw a shooting star once in FS9, but I cannot confirm it. Kev

I saw one once. But it wasn't very realistic. It was always in the shape of an arrow and seemed to flash across the sky, or even into the cockpit, everytime I moved my mouse.

I've seen a couple in FS9, neat effect!Driving home with a friend one night I saw a bright green light go overhead - it was so close I thought it was a navigation light from a plane. Then we saw it was a meteorite - real close it seemed - huge green tail and it turned the whole sky bright green until it burned up. I will never forget that event, it was absolutely incredible - it appeared so close we thought it would strike a field nearby!

I never thought meteors would be in FS004 but it's a nice idea. It would be cool if there were even more rare very much brighter "fireballs" or bright meteors (essentially larger space rocks entering the atmosphere).Perhaps effect files for various specific meteor storms could be made. If you had 'real stars' file, you could even look in the direction of that constellation (if you knew the constellations) for which the particular storm is named on the dates for that activity.
