July 8, 200520 yr With all the real road data thats being used by add-ons developers, I was wondering if atuo gen could be designed to show houses and buildings based on interceting roads? the more roads closer together the more buildings? That way all the textures that replicate cities could be just replaced with grass and or sidewalks and buildings and ouses can sit on that? It would make the ground look very close to real.Kilstorm
July 9, 200520 yr Might be able to do it by hand with the autogen tool in the SDK, but it would be a lot of work and there was/is a limit to some objects. I agree, I hate the city texture and would rather everything be 3D and look more like real life, maybe in the next version, who knows.Regards, MichaelKDFWhttp://www.calvirair.com/mcpics/mcdcvabanner.jpgCalVirAir International Best, Michael KDFW
July 9, 200520 yr >Don't think it can be easily done in FS9. X-Plane already>does this :)Except, X-Plane generated auto-gen cities, don't look to good....IMOL.Adamson
July 9, 200520 yr Since some very bright people have figured out how to place scenery objects such as light poles along roads, something like this should be possible. In fact it should be possible to combine landclass data with the roads so if the landclass was farm, you'd see farming buildings. If the landclass was light-urban, you'd see small houses, etc. If the landclass was heavy-urban you'd see large commercial buildings, etc. Also, could get even fancier if you looked at the type of road. For example, commercial buildings along major roads. Residential buildings along residential roads, etc. All kinds of things possible.Now....just need someone to make the addon :)Matt Fox
July 9, 200520 yr Author AutoAsm by Chris Wright automatically places buildings along roads already. He is working on a new feature that adds moving vehicles (!) to roads at the moment. Pretty brilliant stuff.Best regards.Luis Hot, humid Caribbean paradise!
